WOODWARD – June 10, 2025 – Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma is proud to welcome Charley Thrasher as our 2025 summer intern. A native of Texhoma, Oklahoma, Charley is a junior at Oklahoma State University, pursuing a double major in Agricultural Communications and Agribusiness.

“Our summer internship program plays a key role in developing the next generation of agricultural professionals,” said Greg Livingston, President and CEO of Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma. “Many of our current employees began as FCWO interns. This program allows students to gain hands-on experience in every area of our organization—including lending, credit, marketing, appraisal, human resources, accounting, IT, and administration.”

Charley will spend time at each Branch and take part in various community and industry events throughout the summer.

“The part I’ve enjoyed most so far is how welcoming the Guymon staff has been,” said Thrasher. “Each employee has taken time to teach me, talk with me, and involve me in their work. I’ve already learned so much about this side of the agricultural industry and look forward to continuing to grow with FCWO.”

Charley comes from a strong agricultural background. Raised in the cattle industry, she was active in 4-H and FFA, showing both heifers and market steers throughout her school years.

“Some of my favorite memories are from the show barn with my family,” she said. “Being raised in a family rooted in agriculture has shaped who I am.”

Among her proudest accomplishments are competing in the Oklahoma Youth Expo Grand Drive and showing a division champion market steer at the 2022 American Royal Stock Show.

“These weren’t just my wins—they were wins for my whole family,” she said.

That team mindset has followed her into the internship. “From day one, I could tell the people here treat each other like family,” she said. “Everyone works hard and works together to support both FCWO and the ag industry. What’s surprised me most is how willing everyone is to take time out of their day to teach me, answer my questions, and support me in my work.”

Charley was valedictorian of the Texhoma High School Class of 2023. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Redlands Community College and earned a spot on the President’s Honor Roll in her first semester at OSU.

“We consider it a privilege to work with talented, passionate students like Charley Thrasher,” said Livingston. “Investing in the future of agriculture is at the heart of what we do.”
