WOODWARD – May 14 ,2024 – After wildfires tore through parts of Western Oklahoma early this spring, CoBank, Oklahoma AgCredit and Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma quickly recognized the devastation and combined forces to provide aid to the recovery efforts. Between the 3 organizations, $100,000 was donated to rural fire departments and rural producers in the areas affected by the fires.

Giving back is built into the cooperative structure of all three organizations: CoBank, Oklahoma AgCredit and Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma.

“We take a lot of pride in giving back to our rural communities. We are extremely appreciative of CoBank and Oklahoma AgCredit for recognizing the need in Western Oklahoma following the wildfires and reaching out to us, ready to partner up and aid in the recovery efforts,” said Greg Livingston, CEO of Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma.

Investing in rural communities and agriculture is at the core of each association’s mission. 

“It really comes down to prioritizing the vitality of rural America and doing what we can to help others,” Livingston said. “I like that. And I’m grateful to be part of it.”
